Ruth LaVerne Johnson, 72, of Tifton, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funeral. Rev. Roger Mays will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date.
Ms. Johnson was born on June 17, 1940 in Omega and was the daughter of Julian Warren Johnson and Lucille Marchant Johnson, both deceased. She was retired from the Department of Transportation.
Ms. Johnson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Monica McLeod of Woodstock; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Renee' and Jason Lanier of Waycross; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Freeman and Jeanette Johnson of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Ann Johnson of Omega; and two grandsons, Harrison McLeod and Abraham McLeod.
