STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT – Michael P. Quinn, 60, of 85 West St., died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center, Webster, MA with his family at his side.
He leaves a daughter, Katye A. Pope and her husband Jay R. Pope of Sturbridge, MA; 4 grandchildren, Maison, Autumn, Kaitlin and Ashlee; a brother, Philip Quinn and a sister, Patricia Gauvine, both of Deland, FL; his former wife, Kris (Martin) Quinn of Enfield, CT; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Hartford and raised in Enfield, the son of Francis and Florence (Roberts) Quinn, and lived there until moving to Stafford Springs in 2008. He attended Cheney Technical School and obtained his GED.
Mr. Quinn was a tin knocker for the George Johnson Construction Company in Hartford before retiring. He was an avid fresh water fisherman and a nature lover who enjoyed walking in the woods. He excelled at woodcarving. He owned an extensive baseball card collection and was an ardent fan of both the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland Raiders. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
