Hazel “Grandma” Hartman, 84, of Londonderry, NH, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday July 3, 2012 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. She was born in Big Flat, AR on November 7, 1927, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Dosha (Massey) Tilley. She had been a resident of Londonderry for the past nine months, formerly living in Antioch, CA. Hazel loved Jesus, her Church, and spending time with her family including her pet toy poodle Angel. She also enjoyed music, gardening, reading, crocheting, writing, and especially writing poetry. Hazel was a member of the Manchester Christian Church, and a charter member of the Family Worship Center in Brentwood, CA.
A poem written by Hazel Hartman December 10, 1980 - "JESUS, Just as I am, He died for me. Every sorrow I have felt. So did He. So unworthy of His Grace. Used of Him; if I have faith. Surrendered His life for me, let my life count for Thee."
She is survived by her children Judy Hartman of Londonderry; Mark and Joan Billeci of Londonderry; six grandchildren Frank and Sue-Ellen Billeci of New Boston; Steve and Jonathan Delong of Haverhill, MA; Mark Billeci, Jr of Londonderry, and Mary Billeci of Anderson, CA; one great-grand child, Cara Peters of Anderson, CA; two brothers, Truman Tilley (Joy) of Antioch, CA and Obie Tilley (Elaine) of Red Bluff CA and two sisters, Dorothy Neighbors of Lake City, SC. and Alta McCortney (Mick) of Rio Vista, CA. Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Hartman in 1997, and three sisters, Irene, Cecelia "Mildred" and Ellen.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 9th at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. The burial followed in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Rd., Londonderry. Instead of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Manchester Christian Church, 1308 Wellington Rd, Manchester, NH 03104 or Family Worship Center, 161 Sand Creek Rd Ste A, Brentwood, CA 94513-2057.
