Donat J. Roy, 84, a longtime resident of Reading, died peacefully at home Wednesday, July 4, 2012.
Donat, son of the late Rudolph and Georgianna (Rousseau) Roy, was born in Manchester, NH on November 4, 1927 and lived in Reading over fifty years.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Josephine A. (Lopiano) Roy; three children, Cynthia M. Roy and her husband Frank H. McCracken of Gloucester, Thomas J. Roy and David M. Roy, both of Reading; one brother, Leo Roy and his wife Beulah of Seattle, Washington; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several brothers.
Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Donat’s life by gathering for his funeral service in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10 AM. Rev. Christopher Casey will officiate. A visiting hour at the funeral home will be held on Monday from 9 AM until the start of the service. Burial will take place in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
