Obituary

FRANKLIN—Stanley L. Amato, Sr. 79, of Franklin, died Tuesday July 3, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Natick following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie E. (Omand) Amato.
Born January 2, 1933 in Somerville, a son of Minnie (Silva) Amato of Georgia and the late Michael Amato he was a resident of Franklin since 1996.
He was raised and educated in Cambridge, and attended Emerson College where he received a certificate and training in camera operation. Mr. Amato was the retired camera man for the Boston Red Sox when they were broadcast on WSBK TV 38, a job he treasured for 26 years.
Stanley enjoyed watching old movies, exercising, karate, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by 2 sons: Michael J. Amato of Quincy, Stanley L. Amato, Jr. of Abington, a daughter Denise G. Goode of New Mexico, a brother Michael Amato of Georgia and 6 grandchildren.
He was the husband of the late Grace A. (Dimock) Amato who died in 2003.
Stanley’s funeral service and burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin will be held privately.
