Salem, New Hampshire -Joanne C (Mitchell) Kavanagh, 66, died July 4 at the holy family hospital surrounded by her caring family.
Joanne was born in Lawrence March 24, 1946 the daughter of William J and Catherine (Dube) Mitchell and she received her education in Lawrence graduating from St. Mary's grammar and St. Mary's high school.
For 33 years she had been employed as vice president of manufacturing with the Atlantic Associates of Salem New Hampshire before her retirement in 2003.
Joanne liked an intellectual challenge, who enjoyed traveling was very proud of her heritage and the gift of a beautiful voice.
Survivors include her brother William J. Mitchell, Junior, and his wife Norma, one nephew William J Mitchell the third and wife Barbara two grandnieces Robin and Rebecca Mitchell. She leaves her good friend Barbara A. Farnham.
A mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Monica's church in Methuen on Saturday morning at 11:30 with entombment to follow in St. Mary immaculate conception mausoleum.
Friends will be warmly received on Saturday morning from 9:30 – 11:15 a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard funeral home 233 Lawrence St. in Methuen.
