Obituary

On July 5th, 2012 Priscilla K. O’Hanlon passed peacefully from this life to more life.

She was born on June 3rd 1927 in Bristol, PA the daughter of the late Origin Joseph Kingsbury and Dorothy E. (Fenton) Kingsbury.

On January 12th, 1945 she married the late Harold A. O’Hanlon at St. James Catholic Rectory in Manchester, CT. Together they raised ten children and many more kids who made their home with them (you know who you are).

Priscilla was a girl scout leader for many years in Mystic, she also was a member and very involved in her church community of the Old Mystic Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts and had a great passion for quilting and belonged to several quilt guilds.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold who died July 31st, 1981, eldest son Harold Jr. who died August 11, 1945, her grandson Jason Haggan who died July 2, 1975, her oldest daughter Candy who died February 11, 2005, her son Brian who died July 28, 2011 and her great-great granddaughter Alaina who died January 18, 2012.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Dorothy Smith of North Adams, Ma. She also leaves her sons Craig (Eileen) of Arizona, John (Sonia) of New Jersey, Allan of Idaho, and Terry (Donna) of Gales Ferry. She also leaves her daughters Wendy (Red) Beard of New Mexico, Bonnie Haggan of Groton, Priscilla (Ron) Coumerilh of Idaho and Heidi (Charlie) Plungis of Mystic. She also leaves her godson Kevin Fortuna. She is also survived by her 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and her 6 great-great grandchildren.

Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday July 10th from 5pm to 7:pm. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday July 11th at 10:00am at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 310 Fort Hill Road, Groton. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic.

The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab for the wonderful care they provided for their mom for the last seven and a half years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Apple Rehab Mystic, 28 Broadway, Mystic CT.
