Leora "Nana" Jones, 91, of Londonderry, formerly of Tilton, NH, died Tuesday July 3, 2012 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown after a period of declining health. She was born October 11, 1920 in Sherman, ME and was a daughter of the late John H. and Julia A. (Gould) McCordic. She was raised and educated in the Bristol, NH area and had been a longtime resident of Tilton, prior to moving to Londonderry to be with her daughter.
Mrs. Jones was employed as a weaver for many years with Tilton Endless Belt Co. She was a volunteer at North Londonderry Elementary School and a member of the Londonderry Senior Center. She had a great fondness for line dancing, and will forever be remembered for her deep love of her granddaughters.
Members of the family include her daughter and her husband, Holly & Dr. Stanley Gorgol of Londonderry, two granddaughters, Lauren and Hilary Gorgol, as well as several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A funeral service was held Saturday July 7, 2012 at 10am at First Parish Church, 47 East Derry Rd. in Derry. Burial will followed at Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Rd, Londonderry, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry is assisting the family.
