Obituary

Gladys R. (Sharrock) Gagnon age 93 of Salem, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Center in Salem following a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late George J. Gagnon.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elva (Girard) Sharrock. Gladys worked for many years in the medical profession for several long-term care facilities in the greater Salem area, including the former Newhall Nursing Home and more recently the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott. A devoted care giver, she retired at the age of 72.

Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved life and enjoyed every moment spent with her family. Because she loved helping people, she volunteered at the Salem Senior Center for many years. She also loved to read and knitting for her grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Virginia C. Moore and her husband George E. Moore, III of Reading, Cheryl J. Pezzulo and her husband Ralph of Marblehead, 2 sons, George J. Gagnon of Salem, Thomas Gagnon and his wife Terry Anne of Ipswich, 2 sisters, Doris “Dolly” Speicher and Cecilia Speicher both of Salem. She also leaves 8 grandchildren, Darren, Gregg & Carolyn Moore, Andrew, Jeffrey & Gary Pezzulo, Kristine Raimo, and Chase Gagnon, 4 great-grandchildren, Nicholas & Sophia Raimo, Grant Moore, Lucas Pezzulo and, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Al Sharrock.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste.
