FRANKLIN—Geraldine M. “Gerry” (Booth) Gill 82, of Franklin, died peacefully, with her children by her side Monday July 2, 2012 at home following a long illness. She was the wife of the late John J. “Jack” Gill, Sr. who died in 1998.
Born December 31, 1929 in South Boston, a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Barbara F. (Kelley) Booth she was a resident of Franklin for the past 20 years and was a former longtime resident of the Neponset section of Dorchester.
Gerry was raised and educated in South Boston, where she was a graduate of St. Bridget High School and was a retired homemaker.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Franklin and was a member of the Blaire House Adult Day Group.
She is survived by her children; John J. “Johnny” Gill, Jr., and his wife Janette of South Walpole and Jean Gill of Franklin, a brother Joseph J. Booth, Jr. of North Carolina and 2 sisters Barbara F. Keegan of South Weymouth & Eleanor C. Lashua of Maples, Maine. She also leaves her cherished granddaughter Christina Gill of South Walpole.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday July 6th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
