Manchester– Roland D. Richard, 68 passed away peacefully on June 29, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family.
He was born in Manchester on August 14, 1943 the son of Lucienne J. Richard– Grady and John Grady.
Roland was raised in Manchester and attended Manchester schools. Prior to his retirement at the age of 62, he worked for Kayem Foods (Chelsea, MA.), W.F. Schonlands, and Foster Beef both in Manchester. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, watching birds, vintage cars, and traveling., His favorite place to travel was Arizona. Most of all he loved being with his family near and far.
Members of his family include his wife of 48 years, Priscille (Proulx) Richard of Manchester, his two daughters; Shayne and her husband Chuck Fritz of Manchester, Tricia and her husband Matt Kelley of Scottsdale, AZ.; four grandchildren; Zachary, Allyson, and Kate-Lynn Fritz, and Connor Kelley, four brothers; Robert Richard of Manchester, Norman Richard of Bedford, Jack Grady of Manchester, Tom Grady of Goffstown, five sisters; Colleen Nault of Manchester, Ruth Fournier, Kathy Jorgenson of Iowa, Peggy Blake of Derry, Gail Blodgett of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister Constance Richard.
A memorial reception will take place on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM. at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A prayer service will be at 3:30 PM in the funeral home during the reception.
