In Taunton, July 1, 2012 Robert A. Horne, age 68 passed away while surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy period of failing health. Robert is survived by his former wife Mildred (Pierce) Horne of Raynham. He was born in N.Y. to his late parents Robert & Anna (Szojke) Horne. Robert has been a resident of Taunton since the 1970’s. Robert served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army. He was employed for the former N.E. Telephone as a manager. Robert was a graduate of New Bedford High School. He enjoyed golfing and reading. Robert leaves his children; Robert Horne of Taunton, Wendy Pike & her husband James of Rehoboth, Stacey Hines of Taunton, Coleen Bates & her husband Anthony of Pawtucket, R.I. Robert also leaves his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His siblings Louis Orbin of PA, George Horne of N.C., Elsie Smith of N.Y. and Lois Horne of Raynham. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington, St, Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, July 5th at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours prior to the service from 10-11:30am. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA
