In Taunton, July 1, 2012 Robert A. Horne, age 68 passed away while surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy period of failing health. Robert is survived by his former wife Mildred (Pierce) Horne of Raynham. He was born in N.Y. to his late parents Robert & Anna (Szojke) Horne. Robert has been a resident of Taunton since the 1970’s. Robert served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army. He was employed for the former N.E. Telephone as a manager. Robert was a graduate of New Bedford High School. He enjoyed golfing and reading. Robert leaves his children; Robert Horne of Taunton, Wendy Pike & her husband James of Rehoboth, Stacey Hines of Taunton, Coleen Bates & her husband Anthony of Pawtucket, R.I. Robert also leaves his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His siblings Louis Orbin of PA and George Horne of N.C. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington, St, Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, July 5th at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours prior to the service from 10-11:30am. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA
