Guilherme Goncalves, age 87 of Fall River, passed away June 29, 2012. He was the husband of Maria Merces (Aguiar) Goncalves. Born in Santo António Alem Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Jose & Francisca (Rego) Goncalo. Prior to retiring in 1987, Mr. Goncalves worked for Parks Corp. in Somerset as a machine operator. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Besides his wife of Fall River, he is survived by his children: George Gonsalves (wife Fatima), Joseph G. Gonsalves (wife Bertha) both of Somerset, Alfred Gonsalves (wife Lee) of Tiverton, Gilbert Gonsalves (wife Pauline), William Gonsalves (wife Zelia), & Augustine Gonsalves all of Fall River, Elvira Cordeiro (husband Jimmy) of Somerset, Lydia Gonsalves of Fall River; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of he late Augustine & Lydia Gonsalves, Antonio & Jose Goncalo, & Maria Conceicao Oliveira.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on TUESDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours on MONDAY from 5-8 P.M.
