John Patrick Feeney, age 70, a former longtime Natick resident and area electrician, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Heywood Hospital in Gardner. With him was his devoted wife of twenty years, Sandy Novajovsky.
Born in Boston on January 10, 1942, he was a son of the late John and Patricia (McNabb) Feeney. He was raised and educated in Natick and served with USMC Reserves after his graduation from Natick High School.
John served and Electrician’s Apprenticeship with Warley Electric of Natick and eventually earned his Master Electrician’s license. He spent the majority of his career as the owner operator of Feeney Electric, working primarily in the MetroWest area. After years of working and raising a family in Natick, John retired to the family’s longtime vacation home in North Shapleigh, Maine.
John and Sandy particularly enjoyed playing host to family and friends. Whether a large family gathering or an intimate grouping, visitors to North Shapleigh enjoyed good food and every amenity available. Sailing, skiing and camping were among John’s favorite activities.
In addition to Sandy, he is survived three daughters, Jacqueline P. Dias Costa and husband Albertino of Natick, Dawn M. Feeney of Natick, and Kristen D. Coyne and husband William of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Jack, Matthew, Sam, Mary, William, and Nancy; two sisters, Geraldine Coyle and husband Frank of Osterville, and Maureen Quinn and husband Frank of Laguna Woods, CA; two bothers, Robert Feeney and wife Sandy of Natick, and James Feeney and wife Charlene of Providence, RI; and his Goddaughter, Anne Merchant Geissler and husband William of Natick.
His funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Natick, on Monday, July 2nd at 9:00a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10:00a.m. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, 3 – 5p.m.
