Lorrie Gaither, age 50, died Wednesday, June 27 in Tupelo, MS. She was born May 22, 1962 in Memphis, TN to Maurice E. and Sara Price Gaither. Lorrie was employed for many years as a butcher for Kroger Foods. She enjoyed showing and riding horses, piecing quilts, listening to gospel singing and going to church. Lorrie was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Oakland, MS.
Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Oakland Baptist Church in Oakland, MS with Bro. Jimmy Hood and Bro. Dennis Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland City Cemetery with Daryl Gaither, Ridge Gaither, Dale Gaither, Eric Gaither, Bill Price and Ronnie Price serving as pallbearers. Cecil Gaither will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Lorrie is survived by her daughter, Whitney Lea Gaither Scribner (James) of Bruce, MS; her son, Kevin James Gaither (Niki) of Bruce, MS; one sister, Melissa Self (Troy) of Water Valley, MS; three brothers, Dale Gaither (Lisa), Eric Gaither of Cordova, TN and Daryl Gaither (Teresa) of Grenada, MS; her parents, Maurice and Louise Gaither of Oakland, MS; and two grandchildren, Jaden and Elijah.
