Paul F. "Okie" Aucoin, 67, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.
He leaves his best friend Debra Brule of Oxford. He also leaves his brother Raymond Aucoin; 4 sisters Debbie Holden and her husband Thomas, Diane Levasseur and her husband Glenn, Laurie Nutting and her husband Drew, and Sandy Breault; step-children Patricia Blakeney and her husband Scott of Sterling, Susan Hudson and her husband Bill of Marlboro, and William Dufault and his wife Trisha of Worcester; grandchildren Ryan, Hillary, and Casey Blakeney, Branden, Tyler, and Nicholas Hudson, Brett Dufault (son of Paul Dufault), and Christian Dufault (son of William Dufault). He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Maria A. (Hogan) Dufault Aucoin in 2005. He was also predeceased by his brother Dennis Aucoin and step-son Paul L. Dufault.
He was born in Worcester, son of Laura G. (Wright) and Samuel D. Aucoin. He was a graduate of Boys Trade School. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Paul worked many jobs during his lifetime. He worked in the scrap metal business, worked several years at Wagner Oil and Colbert Carnival, and owned and operated a garage with his father. Okie retired from the Town of Boylston DPW/Highway Dept. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, VA Support Group, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, VFW Millbury, Vietnam Veterans for the Community, and Straw Hollow Engine Assn. Paul was the veteran's agent for the Town of Boylston. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Boylston. He enjoyed Engine shows and spending summers in Wells, Maine. His legacy will live on through his tissue and organ donation to the New England Organ Bank.
Calling hours at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, will be held Sunday, July 1, from 4-7 pm. The funeral will be held from Nordgren Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 2, with an 11:00 am Mass at St. Joan of Arc, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Town of Boylston Fire & Rescue Department.
