BRIDGEWATER - Margaret E. (Eaton) Mahoney, 90, of Bridgewater, formerly of North Easton, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Clement Mahoney.
Born in Taunton, March 22, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Chester A. Eaton and Emma M. (Hart) Eaton.
She lived in Bridgewater for the past 58 years, coming from North Easton, where she graduated from Oliver Ames High School, Class of 1932.
Mrs. Mahoney worked as a secretary at Underwood Typewriter in Boston for several years.
She was a former member of the Catholic Women’s Club at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater and a member of the Massachusetts Society of the Mayflower Descendants.
Mrs. Mahoney was an instructor and leader for the Girl Scout Marian Award.
She is survived by her children, Peter Mahoney of Connecticut, David Mahoney of Alabama and Ann Brazil, Kathleen Vacher and Mary Leonard, all of Bridgewater; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a sister, Alice McKinley of Florida. She was the mother of the late Michael Mahoney and Sheila Bowers and sister of the late Maurice and George Eaton.
Her funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Bridgewater.
