Obituary

Chris Paul McMillan died at Tift Regional Medical Center on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Dr. Wayne Roe, Dr. W. Ches Smith III and Rev. Tommy McMillan will officiate with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the American Legion Post 21 and the Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Masonic Lodge and his nieces. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Chris was born on October 9, 1940 and was the son of R.H. McMillan Jr. and Gladys A. Green McMillan, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha McMillan Berger; and a brother, Robert H. “Tim” McMillan III.

Chris and his wife Mable have lived in Tifton for 33 years and he was the owner and operator of the Little Six Washeteria. The couple are members of the First Baptist Church of Tifton. He was actively involved in the American Legion Post 21 and was also a member of the Tifton Masonic Lodge #47 and the Boch Sunday school class of Tifton’s First Baptist Church. He also served in the Georgia Army National Guard.

Chris is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mable Williford McMillan of Tifton. The McMillan’s have three wonderful sons, three daughters-in-law and six grandchildren. Their oldest son Paul and wife Stacey have three children, Stephanie, Josh and Sarah Kate. They live next door to their parents. The McMillan’s second son, Robert H. McMillan IV and his wife Anita have two daughters, Alexa and Jenna. They live in Powder Springs. The McMillan’s third son Daniel is married to Kerri and they have a daughter, Elli Jae. They live in Sylvester. Chris is also survived by one sister, Patricia McMillan Hammond and her husband Jim. Chris has six nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and great nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the Forward in Faith Building Fund at Tifton’s First Baptist Church, 404 Love Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794.
