Dorothy (Dot) Eades Hodges, 78, of Cunningham, TN, died on Friday, June 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born on July 22, 1933 in Christian County, Kentucky to the late John H. Eades and Rubye Petty Eades. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Billy Nesbitt Hodges; daughter, Barbara Louise Hodges; and brother, John W. Eades.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Harriett Bryan-Harris officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 1-6 p.m. and Monday, June 25, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hodges was retired from Trane Company after 20 years. She was a DAR member and an avid geneologist. She was a member of the McAlister Clan of America and Hodges-Hodge Society. She was also a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Laurin) Ussery and Jackie (Bobby) Moore of Clarksville, TN; sister, Mary Eades Peden of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Michelle Kirby, Scott Moore, Daniel Moore, and Michelle Albritton; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Scott Moore, Daniel Moore, Shawn Cook, Wayne Greene, Jeff Peden, and Buford Groth. Honorary pallbearers will be her special caregivers, Barbara Hodges and Joy Hoosier.
