Peter W. Thomas, 71, of Derry, NH died Tuesday June 19, 2012 at his home following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on April 5, 1941 in Boston, MA, a son of the late Ernest W. and Louise M. (Pond) Thomas. He was raised in Lynn, MA where he graduated from Lynn English High School. In his later years, he lived in Limerick, ME. He was a master mechanic working for Eastern Airline and then American Airlines, both for many years. Peter loved dancing and traveling. He was a jack of all trades. He also enjoyed helping people.
He is survived by three children, Robert W. Thomas and his wife Dianne of Lynn, MA, Cynthia L. Cushing of Portland, ME, and Laurie Anderson and her husband Michael of Derry, seven grandchildren, Cory and Craig Cushing, Sunnie, Misty, Skylar, Dusty, and Autumn Anderson and three great grandchildren.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Saturday June 23, 2012 at 12:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. After the memorial service concluded, everyone was invited back to the family’s home for a time of reflection and sharing of memories about Peter.
