Thompson, Richard A. age 64 of Hackensack formerly of Lyndhurst died Monday, June 18, 2012. Beloved husband of Claudia (Nee) Patterson. Devoted father of Michael and his wife Natalie and Stephen and his wife Dawn. Loving grandfather of Sam, Julia, Noelle, and Matthew. He was a devoted son to his late parents, Norman and Sylvia Thompson and the dear brother of Judy Shehan (Tom), Norma Costanzo (Ron), and Ken Thompson (Audrey). He was also the dear brother-in-law of Joyce Serin (Barry and their son, Jeff), and Carol Patterson. His memory will be cherished by his aunt, Mary Wood, his Sunday sports partner, as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Rick worked for many years as a printer with Encore Studios in Clifton. From April to October you could find him at Yankee Stadium with his sons or watching every game at home. Fall brought rooting for the New York Giants, in between NASCAR races. He was also a longtime member of The First Congregatinal Church of River Edge. Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. A Funeral Service Celebrating Rick's life will take place on Friday at 11AM at the First Congregational Church River Edge. All to meet at church. Disposition to be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Rick's name may be made to the First Congregational Church, 109 Continental Ave., River Edge, NJ 07661 would be appreciated by the family.
