Obituary

Mr. Donald Lee Herling a resident of Hudson, New Hampshire, formerly of Andover and beloved husband of the late Sylvia I. (Mockus) died at his home on Monday, June 18, 2012. He was 81 years old.
Born in Indiana Harbor, Indiana and raised in Cicero, Illinois, Don was the beloved son of the late Oscar and Estelle (Sebulskis) Herling.
A Korean Navy veteran, Don entered the military at Chicago on September 20, 1950 and received his honorable discharge from San Diego on July 7, 1952. Donald was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology and was employed as a Microwave Engineer. He was a longtime member of the Association of Old Crows and was inducted into the Hall of Fame several years ago. Don loved military aircraft and always enjoyed seeing air shows. An avid Bruins fan, Donald also loved boating and all sorts of gadgets, especially computers. He was also a member of St. Mathews Masonic Lodge in Andover. Above all, Don was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He will be missed by his loving children; Cynthia L. and her husband Michael E. Dickinson of Colchester, Vermont, David M. and his wife Linda J. Herling of Hudson, New Hampshire, Elizabeth A. and her husband Terry A. Faxon of Pepperell, Massachusetts and Thomas L. and his wife Marsha V. Herling of Epsom, New Hampshire, fourteen grandchildren; Brian, Nicholas, Christopher, Jennifer, Derek, Devin, Douglas, Trevor, Erik, Jacob, Kendra, Aimee, Heather and Joseph. He is also survived by his beloved cats, Toby and Trixie and loved his late dog, Amber.
His Funeral Service was celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held, Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover.
