Obituary

Peggy Adams Farrior

Peggy Moore Adams Farrior, age 85, died at Quality Health Care in Fernandina Beach, Fl. on June 12, 2012 following an extended illness.

Peggy was born August 7, 1926 in Birmingham, Ala., to the late Paul Bryson Adams and Nada de Lillian Bain.

In 1944, Peggy began working as an advertising copywriter at the radio station WJHO in Opelika, Alabama. On December 24, 1947 Peggy married James S. Farrior (Jim). This began a 64 year romance that was unbroken even at death, which was just two weeks apart.

Peggy and Jim, and their new daughter Sue, moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1950. While in Huntsville, Peggy’s second daughter, Janis Lynn was born, and in 1959 the family moved to Los Altos, California. In 1962 the family moved back to Huntsville, Alabama and remained there until Jims’ retirement in 1980.

Peggy enjoyed many activities, such as Indian artifact hunting and boating. In retirement, Peggy and Jim traveled the world. Peggy especially enjoyed flowers and gardening. In 1997 Peggy wrote and published a book “Peggy’s Memories”. This book will be enjoyed by generations to come. All of us that love Peggy will remember her sweet smile, her lovely voice singing as she went about her daily activities, easy laughter, and the total devotion she had for her family.

Peggy was pre-deceased by her husband Jim and sister Roberta Davis. She is survived by her daughters Sue Farrior Harden, Fernandina Beach, Fl.; and Janis Farrior Nall (Larry), Sopchoppy, Fl.; her grand-daughter Jennifer Nall Petrandis (Thomas), her great-granddaughters, Marina Petrandis, Savannah Petrandis, and Kyria Petrandis. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. The family would like to give special thanks to Joyce Bowman and all of the caregivers at Angel Watch of Amelia Island, and Quality Health Care for their loving care and support during her illness.

Burial will be privately held at the Letohatchee Cemetery in Alabama.
