WORCESTER-Olga (Panagiotou) Economou, 100 formerly of 656 Pleasant Street died Sunday February 24th in UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus. Her husband of 59 years Constantinos Economou died in 1970. She leaves 2 sons Vasilios “Bill” and Polizios “Paul” Economou both of Worcester, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A brother Vasilios Panagiotou and 3 sisters Vasiliki Labovites, Alexandra Lianidis and Dimitra Tsouri all predeceased her.
She was born in Douviani, Northern Epirus the daughter of Matthew and Constantina (Vozoris) Panagiotou and moved to Worcester from Greece in 1947. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, it’s Senior Citizens Group, the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Epirotic Society.
The funeral will be Wednesday February 27th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridon Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday February 26th from 6:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
