Ivy L. (Ayre) Taber, 86, of New Bedford died June 16, 2012 at Forestview Nursing Home in Wareham.
She was the wife of the late George T. Taber, Sr.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Frank and Ivy (Lucas) Ayre, she lived in New Bedford for many years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Taber was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for Coastal Fisheries in New Bedford and Sunderland's Restaurant in Tiverton, RI.
Survivors include her 2 sons, George T. Taber Jr. and his wife Linda of Zephyrhills, FL, and Douglas Taber and his wife Kathleen of Wareham; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 21st at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, June 20th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Massachusetts, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
