LAWRENCE – Simonne G. (Baril) Roy, 97 of Lawrence, MA, passed away Thursday June 14, 2012 at Mary Immaculate Healthcare Services.
Born in Princeville Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Archille and Emelia (Paradis) Baril. Simonne was educated in Lawrence and attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Church. For 30 years she worked for Majestic Shoe in Lawrence, was a crossing guard for 9 years at St. Patrick’s Grammar School and for 7 years worked part-time at the Early Childhood Learning Center in North Andover.
Simonne enjoyed traveling to Florida with her late husband Arthur, loved to entertain family and friends at her home and also loved dancing.
The widow of Arthur J. Roy, she is survived by her daughter and son, Linda A. MacAllister and her husband Thomas of Ocala, FL and Richard A. Roy of North Andover, MA.
Three grandchildren, Matthew C. Roy and his wife Colleen of Methuen, MA, Sheila J. Burke of Orlando, FL and Neil W. Burke also of Ocala, FL; one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson, Michaela Burke and Thomas Burke, several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours for family and friends will be Monday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
