Nancy R. (Butler) Gauvin, 70, of Spencer, died Wednesday, June 13th in Lanessa Extended Care. Her husband of 37 years, Kenneth R. Gauvin died in 2008. She leaves a daughter, Lynnette M. Lanciault and her husband, Gerald of Leicester; a son, William F. McElroy and his wife Donna of Spencer; daughter in law, Donna McElroy-Routhier of North Brookfield; two step-sons, Kenneth M. Gauvin of NY and Ronald K. Gauvin of TN; three step-daughters, Debra L. Miller of Dudley, Cheryl A. Pekala of Oxford and Wendy L. Slingo of Dudley; a brother, Donald F. Butler and his wife, Pauline of Oxford; 7 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Francis P. McElroy who died in 1996.
Nancy was born in Webster the daughter of Wilfred and Ellen (Odgren) Butler. Mrs. Gauvin was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, flowers and spending time with her family.
Her funeral is Saturday, June 16th with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, June 15th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
