Obituary

Mrs. Muriel A. (Springer) Reed, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Robert A. Reed, died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 11, 2012. She was 78 years old.
Born at home in Medford, Massachusetts, on December 19, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles W. and Agnes (Ford) Springer. An avid bird watcher, Muriel loved the outdoors and always enjoyed caring for her plants both inside and outside her homes in Medford and Tuftonboro, NH. Muriel worked as a secretary for Shore Collaborative in Medford for many years. She had also been a volunteer at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A devout catholic, she was a lifelong and daily communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford. Above all, Muriel was a very devoted to her family and friends. Anyone who met Muriel was forever changed by her warm and caring manner.
She will be very sorely missed by her loving daughters and sons-in-law; Donna M. and her husband Stephen J. Bosak of Medford and Susan R. and her husband Albert F. Battistelli of Tuftonboro, New Hampshire, daughter-in-law; Karen Reed of Stoneham, brother and sister-in-law; Norman J. and his wife Margaret Springer of Stoneham, sisters-in–law; Shirley and her husband Charlie Tarbell, Thelma Diltz, and Joyce Bean, all of New Hampshire, cherished grandchildren; Lindsey and her husband Keith Reynolds, Christopher and Jen Bosak and Robert, Lauren and Jake Reed and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also the loving mother of the late Robert S. Reed and sister and sister-in-law of the late Charles Springer and wife Justine.
Muriel’s funeral was held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, June 15, 2012, at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held on Thursday, June 14, 2012, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment was held at the Town Hall Cemetery in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire, on Monday, June 18, 2012, at noon. Donations in Muriel’s memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
