Arena, Dennis J. MD, PhD. Age 65 a resident of Pompano Beach, FL and a former resident of New Milford died Friday, June 8, 2012. Beloved son of Catherine “Edwina” and the late Salvatore J. Arena. Devoted brother of Kenneth and his wife Nena, Barry and his wife Janet, Brian, Kevin and his fiancee Marlene. Loving uncle of Christopher, Paul, Kate, Nicole, Jennifer, Tristan, Noelle and Nevaeh. Dennis began his education at New Milford High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He continued his course of study earning a PhD in BioMedical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and later his MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dennis spent many years as a Radiologist and established The CMI MRI Center with his partners. Dennis was a dedicated son, brother and uncle and will continue to be an inspiration to his family. Among his many other interests, Dennis was an avid skier and he often plied the waters around Newport, RI under sail. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. Funeral is private. In lieu of flowers donations in his name to the American Heart Association, 2551 US Highway 1, New Brunswick, NJ 08902 are appreciated by the family.
