Evelyn S. Kocur, 88, of New Bedford died Friday June 8, 2012 at home.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Walter and Sophie (Rozycki) Kocur, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Miss Kocur was formerly employed as a lab technician for many years, first at hospitals in Georgia, New York, and Boston, and later at Acushnet Hospital and Union Hospital in New Bedford.
She was a member of St. Hedwig's Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world. She loved animals, especially her pet cats.
Survivors include her brother, Edwin W. Kocur and his wife Eileen of Dartmouth; two sisters, Joanna Wojtkunski and Wanda E. Mitzan, both of New Bedford; and six nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday morning at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
