Grayton T. Waite, 59, of Adamsville, RI, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at home. He was the son of the late Leonard A. and Millicent A. (Hart) Waite.
Born in Fall River, Grayton was a lifelong resident of Adamsville. He was the 6th generation owner/operator of Gray’s Store, a family business and the oldest continually operated general store in the United States.
Survivors include his son Jonah C. Waite, his brother Gordon G. Waite and his life partner Liz Cottrell.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. at the Acoaxet Chapel in Westport. Immediately following the service, the family wishes to invite everyone to a beach gathering at Elephant Rock. Please wear or bring your favorite bathing suit or beach attire.
