Gloria Y. Turcotte, 83, formerly of Sayles Hill Rd., North Smithfield, died Monday morning at The Holiday with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Turcotte.
A proud lifelong resident of Manville and North Smithfield, she was a daughter of the late Henri and Yvette (Fournier) Raymond.
Mrs. Turcotte was employed by Almac’s Supermarket at its former Park Square location in Woonsocket for over 34 years before retiring.
Gloria will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and devoted grandmother. She took special pride in the accomplishments of her grandchildren.
Gloria’s family would like to acknowledge and thank all the staff of The Holiday for the care she received while residing there.
She is survived by two daughters Rita A. Turcotte of North Smithfield, Florence M. Turcotte of Gainesville, FL and son-in-laws Philip McCarty and David Hickey. She was the sister of Ernest Raymond of Woonsocket and the late Florence Raymond. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren Devon and Celine Hickey, Ryan, Margaret, Connor, Moria, Maeve, and Philip McCarty, and two nieces Vivian Raymond and Ruth Glittone.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville.
