John Willey 88 of Manchester passed away at the Palliative Care Unit at the VA Medical Center on Sunday June 10, 2012 after a period of declining health with his family at his bedside.
He was born in New Durham, NH on July 20, 1923. He lived in Manchester for the past 10 years prior to living in Auburn for many years. He was a U.S.Navy veteran serving in WW2. He worked for many years for Hayford Kimball Lumber Company in Derry. He also worked for Manchester Sand and Gravel and for Joe Stacy Contracting in Auburn until he retired.
He is survived by his 4 daughters, Margaret Beard and her husband David of Manchester, Marion Tilton and her husband Ken of Merrimack, Marilyn Therrien and her husband Paul of Auburn, Mary Theos and her husband Ted of Londonderry. He had 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 stepchildren, Gary Weaver, Karen Peterson of Hooksett, and David Weaverof Laconia.
John loved the ocean and enjoyed the trips to the Maine beaches every summer with his daughters. He also enjoyed his Sunday breakfast at Mary Ann’s Diner in Derry every week and his trips to Foxwood Casino with his daughters and son-in-laws. His greatest joy was his family and he enjoyed many cook outs and celebrations and pool parties at their homes.
He was predeceased by his first wife Olive Berube his second wife Adeline Weaver and his daughter Debbie Willey.

Calling hours were held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry from 4-7pm. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in Longmeadow Cemetery in Auburn with Military Honors.
