Charles Rudolph “Charlie” Hill, 80, of Tifton died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Tift Memorial Gardens. Dr. Danny Ray will officiate with burial to follow. Charles Dustin Hill, Marion Lightfoot, Herman McDaniel, Jackie Cooper, Howard Harbuck and Russell Hill will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Hill was born on April 4, 1932 in Tift County and was the son of Hazel O. Hill and Addie Lou Willis Hill, both deceased. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 through 1954 and was in the insurance business from 1955 until his retirement. He was a member of the Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany.
Mr. Hill is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles W. “Chuck” and Susan Hill of Tifton and Mark A. and Laura Hill of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Charles Dustin Hill and Brandi Bostick, both of Tifton; one niece, Kelly Kearney of Tallahassee, Florida; and an aunt, Myra Hill Hudgins of Eastman.
