Gretta E. Gwinn , 89 of Natick, MA. daughter of Jay and Lucy Wilson died on Thursday June 7th 2012 of natural causes.
Born in Cambridge Springs, PA and grew up in Upstate New York. Gretta is preceded in death by her late husband Philip C. Gwinn, her son Randy Gwinn, and her sister Janice Cappetta. She leaves behind two daughters, Janice Bowes and her husband Andrew of Natick and Dawn Mottinger and her husband John of Pittsburgh, Pa. Gretta is also survived by her beloved twin sister Alice Fleming of Saratoga Springs NY, her Grandchildren; Heidi, Heather, Holly, Carrie, John, Chris, Jamie, Christine, Julia and her Great Grandchildren, Cassie, Devan, Liam, Collin and Noah; and many nieces and nephews.
Gretta had several careers in her lifetime. After World War II she managed a Sears store in Boston. She was a costume designer and seamstress for The Boston Ballet in the late 1960’s and 70’s. Gretta ran the entertainment offices for the Chateau Deville in Framingham and then managed Dancers Studio in Boston. She ended her working years at Damon Labs in Dedham, Ma.
Gretta was a wonderful Mother who will be missed and remembered by all.
A service will be held at Dell Park Cemetery on Monday at 11:00 am where she will be layed to rest alongside her beloved husband and son. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Liver Foundation, New England Chapter, 88 Winchester St. Newton, MA 02461.
