Derry, New Hampshire – Mae F. ( Hardy) Granata, 88, died June 8, 2012 at thePleasant Valley nursing home in Derry New Hampshire surrounded by her loving and caring family.
Born in Methuen Massachusetts February 27, 1924 Mae was the daughter of Frederick and Etta (Sinclair) Hardy. She received her education in the Methuen school system. Mae had been employed as a group leader with the Raytheon Company in Lowell, Massachusetts for 25 years before her retirement. One of her finest attributes was spending quality time with her family and friends.
Mae was the widow of Stephen J. Granata who died at the age of 61 in 1991. She is survived by her daughter Sheryl A. Szettella of Pelham, New Hampshire. Survivors also include four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mae was predeceased by her son Ronald F. Verschaeve, grandson Mitchell, Szettella Jr. and her son-inlaw Mitchell Szettella, Sr.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock in St. Patrick's church in South Lawrence and burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Monday from 4 to 7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St. in Methuen.
