Alfred Torres, 84 of Fall River, passed away at home with his family by his side. He was the husband to Noemia (Pereira) Torres for 65 years. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Joao and Maria (Venancia) Torres. Prior to retiring, Alfred worked as a Lead Man for the former Quaker Fabric Co. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Alfred’s biggest enjoyment was working side by side with his son John. He also loved fishing.
Besides his wife, Alfred is survived by 2 children: Lucy Raposo (husband Tony) of FL and John Torres (wife Kathy) of Swansea; a brother: Adelino Torres of Sao Miguel, Azores; 4 grandchildren: Melinda Holmes, Wayne Torres, Keith Raposo, & John Torres Jr.; 5 great grandchildren: Brooke, his little buddy Donovan, Shane, Jack, & Alex; several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late John, James, Joseph, & Adelina Torres.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Seabury St. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours SUNDAY from 5:30-8:00 P.M.
