GLOUCESTER: Matthew David Fredrick, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
Born in Woburn on October 17, 1960, he was the son of Walter and Lila (Dupee) Fredrick. Matt was a lifelong Gloucester resident, and although he resided in Brewster for a short time, it was to his beloved “Glosta” that he eventually returned. He graduated Gloucester High School and had additional technical training at Hewlett Packard. He was employed at Plots and Plans and Sudbay Motors.
His two sons were his pride and joy. He loved being a father and spending time with them. During his lifetime, he had a number of hobbies and interests. He liked working with his hands, fixing and helping others with their projects. He cherished time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sons, Matthew C. Fredrick and Warren D. Fredrick; his former wife, Jean Fredrick; his two brothers, Walter Fredrick and Richard Carpenter; his sister, Lila Bareford and her husband, David and his nieces, Skylar Bareford and Julia Tomlinson-Fredrick. He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew N. Fredrick.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday in the Seaside Cemetery, Lanesville at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102.
