Paul A. Kubert, 80, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born and raised in Worcester, the son of Pauline C. (Sieniawski) and Peter P. Kubert. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Worcester Junior College and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Paul worked at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for 35 years. He was an active member of Our Lady of Providence (formerly St. Bernard Church) in Worcester for 40 years. He belonged to the Polish American Veterans, Polish Naturalization Club, and The New England Fly Tyers. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, fishing, swimming, computer gaming, and trips to the New England Casinos.
He leaves his best friend and wife of 54 years, Carolyn F. (Murphy) Kubert; daughter Kathleen MacLeod, her husband, John MacLeod of Cranston, RI; sons, Stephan Kubert, Kenneth Kubert, Paul J. Kubert, of Worcester, MA, son Michael Kubert, his partner Nate Rozeboom of Seattle, WA, and daughter Lynn Protasowicki, her husband, Richard Protasowicki of Littleton, MA. He leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Kaelyn Kubert, Anthony Kubert, Henry MacLeod, Abby MacLeod, Nicholas Protasowicki and Andrew Protasowicki, as well as a large extended family. He was predeceased by brother Richard C. Kubert and step-father John R. Sieniuc.
Calling hours at Nordgren Memorial Chapel will be held on Sunday, June 10, from 4-7 p.m. The funeral will be held from Nordgren Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 11, with a 10 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Providence, 236 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Providence, 236 Lincoln Street, Worcester MA 01605.
