Yafet Yoseph, age 18 of Clarksville, TN, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Destin, FL.
He was born on May 10, 1994 in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia to Yoseph Abrha and Meley Siltan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brikti Kiflu, Siltan Tsegay, and Gedey Gessese.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10 a.m., at the Protection of the Holy Virgin Mary Orthodox Church ( A Frame Chapel at 2041 Madison Street ), with Father Peter Dubinin officiating. Burial will be in Ethiopia. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 8:30-10 a.m., at the church.
Yafet was a student at Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville, TN. He was very involved in community service and also belonged to many organizations within his school. He was Vice President of the Junior National Association of the Deaf and the Knoxville Center of the Deaf. He loved sports and participated in football, basketball, soccer and track.
He is survived by his father, Yoseph Abrha of Ethiopia; mother, Meley Siltan of Clarksville, TN; and grandparent, Abraha Adal.
