Florence Green, 91, of New Bedford died June 8, 2012.
Born in New Bedford on January 18, 1921, she was raised in New Bedford and Florence lived a full life. She married and raised three children in the Bronx, and she considered having her children her greatest achievement. She lived in New York where she worked as a clerk at Met Life before becoming a supervisor.
She also lived in Connecticut before returning to New Bedford and buying a home with her husband of 49 years, Calvin Green. She retired as a teacher's aide for Roosevelt Jr. High School.
She was loved by her children Jeanie, Cookie and Mimi; her grandchildren Jamie and Johnna; her great-grandchildren Marissa and Jaren; stepsons Calvin Jr. and Jeffrey; her niece; Yvonne; her nephews Clayton Jr and John. She loved her family and leaves neices, nephews, cousins and friends - Aurora and Clayton, Hilda, Tony and Frances, Peggy and Tony, Juju and Turner, Sonny, Mabel and Henry, Marie, Patti, Jackie, Leslie and Michael, Begona, Manny, George and Rosie, Kathy, Bernadette, Monica, David, Shanon, Cheryl, Viola (Vi), Dorothy, Christine, Veronica, the De Pina's, MaryAnn and Paul, Mickey and Alice, Bill and Marylou, Frank, Bella, Mary and Pauline.
