Pappas, Harriet of Jamaica Plain on June 6 after an extended illness.
Survived by her husband of 55 years Nicholas Pappas of Jamaica Plain, son John of Jamaica Plain, her daughter Kristin and her husband Richard Savage of Needham. Sister of Loui(predeceased) of South Boston, Emily of Roslindale, and Diane of West Boylston. Beloved grandmother to Richard, Christopher, Nicholas, and Andrew Savage of Needham. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their extended families.
Long time employee of the Boston School Department and long time employee of John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company.
Harriet was a first generation Albanian American who assimilated quickly to the culture of United States while also maintaining her ethnic heritage.
Harriet liked to cook, read, travel and spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Harriet was also a school library volunteer, a Cub Scout den mother in Jamaica Plain, and Ladies Guild of Saint George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral member.
Visiting hours will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday June 8 at Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St, West Roxbury, Mass.
Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. at Saint George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral, 523 East Broadway, South Boston, Mass on Saturday, June 9 followed by burial at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave, Jamaica Plain, Mass.
