Helen (Boosahda) Hamwey of West Roxbury, formerly of Belmont and Waltham, passed away on June 6, 2012. She was 89 years old.
Born in Worcester, Helen was a graduate of Commerce High School. She was a long-time parishioner of the Church of St. John of Damascus and part of the St. John's Guild, past member of the executive board, member of the Virgin Mary Society and was active in the Sunday school program. She was also a proud member of the Order of St. Ignatius.
Helen enjoyed traveling and loved attending various activities and social events with friends. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her adoring grandchildren.
Helen was the dear and devoted wife of the late Fred Hamwey. Loving mother of Sharon Cormier and her husband Dennis of Stoughton, Fred Hamwey Jr. and his wife Paula of Lancaster, and Paul Hamwey and his wife Felicia of San Diego, CA. Cherished grandmother, “Sitoo” of Brian and Jason Cormier, Rebecca and Ronald Hamwey, and Louis, Nelson and Jordan Hamwey. Dear sister of George Busada and his wife Marion of Worcester, Evelyn Ayoub of West Roxbury, Harold Boosahda Jr. and his wife Violet of Worcester and Raymond Boosahda of TX. Dear sister-in-law of Rose Abbood of Naples, FL. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Helen's Funeral Service was held in the Church of St. John of Damascus, 300 West St. DEDHAM on June 9, 2012.

Helen was laid to rest with her beloved Fred at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
