Obituary

SALEM – Irene O’Leary, 86, of Salem, died June 5, 2012 at Grosvenor Park Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert “Bob” O’Leary with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. A life-long resident of Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stacia (Robotycka) Potocki. She graduated from Salem High School and attended Burdett School of Business. She spent most of her life as a loving homemaker, and also worked for many enjoyable years at Pattee-Anne Shop, a woman’s clothing store, in Salem. She was a life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox. She loved music, swimming at the Salem YMCA, the simple pleasures of everyday life, and above all, time spent with her family. She had a strong and caring spirit, and her gracious ways made her a friend to many. She was well-loved and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children Kathy O’Leary of Danvers, Susan O’Leary of Salem, Patricia and her husband Joseph B. McGrath of Marblehead, David and his wife Patti O’Leary of North Andover, Janet O’Leary and her husband Ron Bartos of Ashland, and Maureen and her husband Bruce Murden of Danvers; her grandson David Robert O’Leary of North Andover; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Tobin.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, June 7, from 4 to 8 pm at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Her funeral service will be held Friday, June 8, 2012 at 8 am from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 am at the St Thomas the Apostle Church, Route 114, North St., Salem, at the Peabody line. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Cemetery services are private.
