Obituary

Marion Helen Watson died on Friday May 18, 2012 due to heart and diabetes related illnesses only a month after her family moved her to Walla Walla, WA.

She was born in Michigan City, Indiana on July 13, 1930 to Elmer L. and Lavina Henrietta (Murray) Smith. The family moved to Idaho in the late 1920’s and she attended schools in Golden, Idaho through the 8th Grade.

In her later years she moved to Prosser, WA with a son and his family. Her son moved away but Marion loved it so well due to the many friends she made she decided to stay to the delight of all.

She learned how to crochet and enjoyed making beautiful articles for family and friends. She always thought of others needs before her own and did the wash and other things for neighbors at Sun Terrace that couldn’t do for themselves. At Sun Terrace she was part of a band, loved social dancing, singing, and helping others in need. She came out to all of the single adult activities at church and offered her support, wisdom, and love for everyone in the group. We all came to know and love her sense of humor. During our association with her she often talked about her childhood and the love she had for her family.

Survivors include daughters, Wilda Irene Imatong, College Place, WA, Amy Ann Gentry, Walla Walla, WA, and Gail Maxine Watson, Orem, UT; sons, Russell Eugene Watson, Clarkston, WA and David McKay Watson of Orem, UT; 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren

A celebration of her life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 8 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, 1835 Highland Dr., Prosser, WA. Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the service in the Relief Society Room. Her burial will be in the Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston, ID. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home & Crematory of Prosser.
