William H. Greene age 80 formerly of Quincy of Canton passed away peacefully June 4th at the John Scott Rehabilitation Center in Braintree. Born in Roxbury, he was raised in Dorchester and attended St. Patrick’s School in Roxbury and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School Class of 1950. He had lived many years in Quincy before moving to Canton in 2006. He worked as a Union Iron Worker at the Quincy Shipyard for many years before retiring. Uncle Billy loved to sing and play Santa Claus for his many nieces and nephews at the annual family Christmas Party. Beloved brother of Herbert Greene of Quincy, Mary DuBeau & her husband Ernest of Mashpee & Rita Sullivan & her husband Joseph of Braintree and the late Joseph & John Greene. Brother in law of Joanne Borek Greene of Quincy and Mary Canavan Greene of S. Boston. Also survived by his long-time girlfriend Kathy Gannon of Weymouth and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews. He was a friend of Bill W. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Ann’s Church 757 Hancock St. Quincy Thursday morning at 10. Burial private.
