Edith Elizabeth (Martell) Allen, age 77, of Stonington, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Duane Robert Allen Sr. who passed away June 25, 2004.
A lifelong resident of Stonington, she worked for many years at the American Velvet Mill.
Edith is survived by her four children Duane, Dana, Darryl and Cheryl Chase, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Lucy Jane (Brown) Martell and Frederick James Martell and three brothers Raymond, William, Charles Sr. and sister Dorothy Green.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday, June 14th from 11am-11:45am followed by a service at 12noon. The Rev. David Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
