Obituary

Vingo Arthur 82, of Natick, died Saturday June 2, 2012 at the Kindred Health Care Center in Natick.

He was the beloved husband of the late Janet A. (Carney) Arthur who died in 1995.

Born in Natick and a lifelong resident, he was one of twelve children of the late Sotir and Eleanora (Ndini) Arthur.

Mr. Arthur was a skilled carpenter and builder in the Natick area for over 40 years.

Vingo developed a strong work ethic starting at the age of 7, working part-time while in school doing various jobs in his neighborhood, and later was employed at the former Harwood Baseball factory in Natick.

He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots, was an accomplished athlete at Natick High School where he played football and was a member of the track team, he also known to occasionally to “wager on the horses”.

Mr. Arthur graduated from Natick High School class of 1949 and attended every class reunion including his 60th three years ago.

Mr. Arthur was a veteran of the United States Army and a lifelong member of the Albanian Orthodox Church of the Annunciation of Natick.

His family was his greatest joy, cherishing every gathering, and especially the time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by four devoted children Cindy Granfield of Wayland, Vicki Arthur Baron and her husband Moises of La Jolla CA, Ted Arthur and his wife Audrey of Natick, Beth Delaney of Phoenix AZ, five sisters Vasilika Verdi of Hadley, Flora Busconi of Hopkinton, Pauline Stetton of Auburn, Antoinette Arthur of Natick, Loretta Gentilotti of Mendon, two brothers, Louis Arthur of Stratford CT, Thomas Arthur of Ashland, 14 grandchildren, Kim, Cheri, Jason, Nick, Todd, Tim, Kayla, Brooke, Michele, Ryan, Jonathan, Michelle, Russ, Wade, and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Diane Arthur and brother of the late Nicholas Arthur, George Arthur, Arthur Arthur, and Dorothy Ann Arthur.

The Arthur family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the entire staff of the Kindred Eliot Health Care Center in Natick for the excellent care and comfort they gave to Vingo during his stay with them.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday June 8 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common.

Burial will follow in St Patrick Cemetery.

Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
