Ryan S. Delaney, 32, of Castaic, California died unexpectedly April 14, 2012 after a short-term illness. Ryan resided prior to California in Louisville, Kentucky and grew up in Hampstead, New Hampshire.
Ryan was born October 24, 1979 in Haverhill, Massachusetts the son of Charles and Joanne (Cote) Delaney. Throughout his teen years and early twenties, Ryan worked every summer for Sodexho at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire in 1998 and earned his business degree with a minor in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 2003. He served as student government vice president while attending UMass Lowell, and after working in the finance world at Putnam Investments in Andover, Massachusetts he moved to Louisville, Kentucky to serve as Controller at the Louisville Zoo.
Ryan was known for his sharp wit, his extraordinary work ethic, his abiding love for the Boston Red Sox, and his amazing loyalty to his friends.
Ryan is survived by his parents Charles and Joanne Delaney; his brothers Patrick and Michael Delaney; his sisters-in-law Gail R. Delaney and Amanda Delaney respectively, and his nephews and nieces Kaitlyn Delaney, Patrick Delaney Jr., Ryanne Delaney, and Seamus Delaney. And his loyal dog Fenway. Ryan comes from a large and loving family and will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ryan will be missed by many, many friends.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 9th from 10:30-11 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.
